Situational context for our retreats
Humanity faces a global uncertainty that is challenging our sense of safety and control. 'Business as usual' is no longer fit for purpose. Our systems are in collapse.
The global economic system, intended for growth and prosperity, was successful in the short term. But the longer term impacts of this design have now become clear. People the world over are living the consequences.
The future of humanity urgently requires the full attention, mobilisation and radical collaboration of business, policy and finance. And as the world changes, so must we. As citizens and leaders, we must adapt, be agile, innovative and responsive. We may need to unlearn what no longer serves us, and relearn new ways of being, if we are to leave a legacy that will better serve generations to come.

Our Inspiration and the 8 Princples
Many of the world's financiers, philosophers, scientists and academics have dedicated themselves to understanding what is required to transition away from our systemic risks, and to rebuild global resilience and wellbeing. They have defined the Principles by which we can govern a safe and prosperous future. These principles emerged from the laws of living systems - which inherently strive to thrive. These are the Principles of Regeneration. They are the principles of life. Regen Retreats was established to bring ambitious and curious leaders into touch with these Principles through collective enquiry.
Our source of inspiration are the 8 Principles of regenerative economics The 'first principles', as synthesised by John Fullerton, who founded the Capital Institute to disseminate these principles to accelerate economic safety, and to honour and promote the diverse thinkers and leaders who inspire his journey.

Our Retreats

Our Story
Its founders, from Greece and the UK, met whilst under the tuition of John Fullerton and the Capital Institute, and were inspired to create Regen Retreats. They wished to demonstrate the impact of translating regenerative economic theory into practice. 2024 hosted the inaugural retreat in Andros island, whose rich cultural and economic history, provides a perfect canvas upon which to co-create blueprints for socio-economic regeneration. Regen Retreats is a UK registered CIC (Community Interest Company) and is the 'regenerative activation' arm of Intaconnected. Conceptualised after Caty Batten and Dimitrios Kokkinis studied under John Fullerton in 2022, the organisation came to life in 2024 thanks to the support, collaboration and inspiration from several others, including John Fullerton himself.
Caty's work seeks to co-create mediums through which to help one another reflect upon, and understand, the impacts of our business decisions with greater awareness and consciousness, so that we may collectively find a path to a more abundant, equitable and safe future for all life.
Regen Retreats aims to inspire and enable leaders to dedicate intentional time for their own reconnection. Through deep exploration and mindful enquiry, our Retreats offer experiential learning to reawaken timely wisdom.
Whilst serving and supporting the leaders we welcome, Regen Retreats also cycles this wisdom back to our host destinations. As we develop new ways of thinking, leading, and being, our cohorts bring living systems principles to life, observing their presence in the destinations we visit and integrating them into their own contexts once they return home. This accelerated, immersive learning can inspire the human imperative for regeneration, simultaneous to the business and economic imperative.
